Facilities Specialist 4
This job is responsible for the oversight, development, and evaluation of Office of Physical Plant custodial programs, which includes training, work schedules, quality assurance, inventory management, equipment procurement and maintenance, pest management, and safety programs. Management of Custodial projects including new construction, consulting with design, project managers, construction representatives, and contractors for new and existing construction related to finishes, design, space, and turnover responsibilities. Oversee and manage custodial human resources functions to include: vacancy filling, employee lateral transfer, temporary transfer, overtime, temporary employee requisitions, and travel/training planning. Assist in developing budget for custodial equipment, vehicle assets, and custodial supplies program. Assist in developing and administering the custodial capital renewal program, and maintain expenditures within assigned limits. Oversee interviews and hiring programs for custodial staff and technical service employees. Conduct training sessions and develop various instructional/training materials and programs, including computer based training. Develop and conduct employee skill evaluations. Participate in the resolution of performance issues, including disciplinary actions concerning full and part-time employees. Develop, implement, and maintain computerized and information gathering systems and methods of analysing data for scheduling of custodial operations. Hire, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff and technical employees. Serve as backup to Custodial Operations Manager and Custodial Shift Supervisors. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference is given to individuals currently certified. Requires IICRC certification as CMT, SMT, FCT or industry equivalent (current or within two years of hire). This position requires that you operate licensed and unlicensed motor vehicles as required or assigned. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
