Facilities Supervisor 4 (Facilities Supervisor 4 Custodial Shift Supervisor)
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of day-to-day custodial operations on assigned shift in hundreds of University buildings to include supervision, administration, hiring and firing, and training. Directly supervise five staff-exempt Custodial Supervisors and indirectly supervise their subordinate custodial employees to ensure that consistent, responsive, quality, and cost effective custodial cleaning services are provided. Handle discipline issues utilizing the Union- University Agreement and human resources procedures and policies. Represent the University in various meetings such as: unemployment compensation hearings, grievances and other labor relations issues. Responsible for oversight of all aspects of expense management for assigned shift and assist manager with development of the annual custodial budget. Interact with building contacts regularly, and ensure Custodial Supervisors are communicating and providing a high level of customer service. Act as liaison to other Physical Plant units to represent custodial services for your assigned shift. Oversee establishment and implementation of work schedules on assigned shift, and ensure proper management of supplies and equipment. Manage and ensure compliance with quality assurance program for assigned shift. Oversee and administer training program for all direct and indirect reports. Monitor custodial safety measures ensuring safe and proper working conditions. Monitor safety inspections and ensure security of physical facilities and assigned buildings. Recommend and implement injury prevention measures and investigate accidents. Utilize various computer programs and devices. Assume leadership responsibility for custodial snow removal efforts on shift. Perform special projects, assignments, and quality service improvements as needed. There are two vacant positions: 2nd shift is 5PM to 1:30AM (M-F) and 3rd Shift, 10PM to 6:30AM (M-F). Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires IICRC Certification within two years of hire. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
