Technicians are expected to be able to operate, start-up, set-up and shut down all machinery. They must be capable of performing mold changes, color changes, and troubleshooting all injection molding processes as necessary to meet Quality requirements. They are responsible for contacting and communicating all changes and all crucial information to the Manager or Supervisor as issues arise from production.RESPONSIBILITIES: · Must understand and be able to perform and reconfigure the entire injection molding process, this includes peripherals.· Evaluate the quality of articles from newly set-up machines/ follow first shop inspection procedure· Follow and monitor production processes to eliminate errors· Start up and shut down all molding machines and equipment as necessary according to the needs of production· Follow all mold change procedures and processes· Perform mold changes and color changes in a proficient manner· Troubleshoot injection molding processes as necessary to meet quality and production requirements.· Work with and relieve assembly line Operators as needed to meet production requirements.· Respond to reported machine and molded part issues· Troubleshoot minor hydraulic and electrical problems· Give training/help to IML Automation Setters and Jr. IML Automation Setters working on injection molding machines, molds, robots, cameras and packing.· Record accurate production data that includes all necessary information needed for tracking purposes· Perform housekeeping responsibilities as necessary on a daily, weekly, monthly maintenance schedule· Perform maintenance and inspection on IML robots· Support and maintain all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.QUALIFICATIONS: · High School diploma required · 5 -7 years of manufacturing and maintenance experience · Mold Set-up experience required, must be able to competently operate production and mold equipment· Must be mechanically inclined and able to discern mold problems from machine process problems. Must be safety and quality conscience at all times.· Must be familiar with the operation of injection molding machines, molds and robots.· Must be responsible, self-motivated and team oriented. Must be able to make decisions with minimal supervision. Must have good communication skills, both written and oral.· Must be flexible with hours with a willingness to work overtime as needed. Must have a willingness to take a "hands On" approach during mold changes and other jobs.
